We didn’t grow up by the ocean, but every summer, we'd spend weeks at Lang’s Beach in New Zealand with our family. Those long holidays by the water was where we first built our connection to the coast with days riding waves and evenings around the barbecue. It's these memories that built our love for coastal living and the lifestyle that comes with it.
Chasing the Coast
As soon as we had the chance, we moved closer to the ocean. Today, we’re based on the Gold Coast which is home to world-class beaches and iconic stretches of sand. Here, our daily routines are shaped by the coast: morning walks with salt in the air, afternoons in the sun, and evenings watching the waves roll in. Living here keeps us grounded, inspired, and constantly reminded of why the coast matters.
A Bigger Problem
Travel opened our eyes to a global challenge. In places like Thailand and Bali, clean water infrastructure is limited, which means bottled water is often the only option. The result? Mountains of plastic bottles and sadly, many of them end up in our oceans. In fact, a garbage truck’s worth of plastic is dumped into the ocean every single second.
Why It Matters
The coast isn’t just about beautiful moments; the oceans are vital for life on Earth. They generate more than half of the world’s oxygen and regulate our climate. Yet plastic pollution threatens that balance. We knew we couldn’t just stand by and we had to be part of the solution.
House of Dune Begins
So in October 2025, House of Dune was born: a brand that's dedicated to designing timeless coastal essentials with sustainability at the core. From umbrellas crafted with recycled RPET fabric to loungers in fade-resistant Olefin, every detail is chosen to last season after season. Products that look good, perform well, and reduce waste.
Looking Ahead
For us, House of Dune is more than just a collection. It’s our way of celebrating life by the water while protecting it for the future. With every purchase helping to remove plastic from the ocean through our partnership with Plastic Bank, we're building a community that values design, durability and sustainability.
