Cookie Policy overview

This page explains the cookies, pixels and similar tools on the House of Dune website and in our emails. It's a short companion to our Privacy Policy, which covers everything in more detail. If the two ever differ, the Privacy Policy applies.
House of Dune is run by Ten X Ventures Pty Limited (ABN 22 684 103 142). We sell to customers in Australia and New Zealand.
What these tools are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Pixels (also called tags or web beacons) are small pieces of code on a page or in an email that send information to us or to a partner when something happens, such as a page view, an add to cart, a sign-up or an email open. Local storage works much like cookies. We also use server-side connections, which send events such as a purchase or sign-up straight from our store to some partners. Those don't rely on cookies in your browser.
How we use them

| Marketing and ads | Measures our ads and shows House of Dune ads to people who've visited our site or are like our customers, on Meta, Google, TikTok and their partner sites. It also links your browsing to your email profile once you've signed up, so our emails can be more relevant. |
Who runs them on our site
Third parties, including Meta, Google and TikTok, use cookies, pixels, web beacons and other storage technologies to collect or receive information from our website and elsewhere on the internet. They use it to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads.

Examples: _ga, _ga_*, _gcl_au. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. |
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | Meta Pixel and Conversions API, with advanced matching, including the email you enter when you sign up. Examples: _fbp, _fbc. |
| TikTok | TikTok Pixel, with contact details (usually hashed). We aren't currently advertising on TikTok. Examples: _ttp. |
| Klaviyo (our email platform) |
__kla_id links your browsing to your email profile once you've signed up or clicked one of our emails. Klaviyo may also use Extended ID and First-Party ID to reconnect your browser to your profile if that cookie expires or is cleared. They don't create new profiles. |

Cookie names and lifespans change as these tools update. The examples above aren't a complete list.
How long they last: from the end of your visit up to 2 years. Most marketing cookies last a year or less.
In our emails
Our marketing emails contain pixels and tracked links that record opens and clicks, when, and on what device. Some email apps preload images, so an "open" may be recorded even if you haven't read the email. Turning off image loading stops open tracking; links are still tracked.
Your choices
- On our site: use "Your privacy choices" in our footer, where shown. It tells Shopify and the apps that follow its settings, including our Meta and TikTok pixels, not to share that browser's activity for targeted ads.
- Ask us: email hello@houseofdune.com.au with "ads opt-out" and we'll stop using your details to target you with House of Dune ads, as described in Privacy Policy section 8.
- Meta: Ad preferences.
- Google: My Ad Center or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- TikTok: in the app, Settings and privacy, then Ads.
- Industry opt-out: WebChoices opts your browser out of interest-based ads from participating companies.
- Your browser: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop the cart and checkout working. Blocking cookies limits pixels, but not server-side connections when you buy or sign up.
Do Not Track: there's no agreed standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so our site doesn't respond to them. Use the choices above instead.
Opting out never affects your ability to buy from us.
