FAQs
+What materials do you use?
A treated beechwood pole for warmth and strength, aluminium tilt hinge for adjustable shade, and a recycled RPET canvas canopy. Finished with poly-cotton tassels and a matching carry bag.
+How secure is the Sand Screw base?
The integrated sand screw anchors firmly in soft ground. For best results, twist the screw deep into compacted sand and keep the canopy low when windy.
+Are umbrellas wind-rated?
No portable umbrella is storm-proof. Use common sense: lower the canopy, tilt into the breeze, and close during strong winds. Damage from strong wind or neglect is not covered by warranty.
+Will it fit in a standard car boot or beach cart?
Yes. The House of Dune beach umbrella (about 4 kg) and beach cabana (about 7 kg) each pack into a matching carry bag that fits most car boots and beach carts. Rinse the zips after saltwater exposure.
+How do I clean the canopy?
Brush off sand, sponge with mild soap and fresh water, and air-dry fully before bagging. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
+Do I need an umbrella stand or base?
Not on the sand. The House of Dune Beach Umbrella has a built-in sand screw: twist it deep into firm, damp sand until the pole stands firm, as our set-up video shows. For a deck or patio, the pole is 32 mm in diameter, so it fits umbrella bases made for a 32 mm pole.
